Back Country Celts

The original little church organ has been restored to its former glory, and features in the book and CD production "Back Country Celts".
This  60 page book and two CDs combines haunting traditional  slow airs and laments played on Uilleann Pipes, Viola, Cello, Dord Iseal, and the church organ, with fine "experimental realist" art works and superb colonial-Irish-Australian bush poetry by John O'Brien. 

The twenty-three recitations of John O'Brien's poems are complimented by sixteen tracks of spare, sometimes bleak, pure but not simple Irish airs. Recitations are by Kevin Brennan, from John O'Brien's  "Around the Boree Log" poetry, 1921and  are without doubt the best that have been produced.

Soloist playing pipes, viola is Sheina Petch ex Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and inaugural member Irish Pipers' Association Melbourne.
Daughters Emily and Simonne provide background with Cello and the Dord Iseal, the horn of ancient Ireland.

Farewell to Whisky

This CD includes a 20 page insert booklet detailing the 77 minutes of wonderful music. The tragedian mix of Scottish and Irish music covers amazing vocals from Eric Bogle, Christy Moore, Maria Forde, the Battlefield Band, Maireid Sullivan, plus recitations by Richard "Skreitch" Leitch.

Songs include : Ae Fond Kiss, MacPherson's Lament, Last Rose of Summer, Song of the Wandering Aengus, It Don't Cost Much, Waly Waly, If Wishes Were Fishes, Dark Island.  Tunes include : Mrs. Hamilton of Pitcaitland, Father John MacMillan of Barra, Farewell to Whiskey, The Rights of Man and many more.
